Why should I blog?

The number one reason to blog and to do it regularly is for SEO, SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION. Why do you care about SEO? Well, when a couple is researching online for vendors in their area or their wedding location, they are likely to use search engines like GOOGLE or YAHOO, to do a preliminary search, ie: “best san diego wedding gowns”. Small businesses can use blogs to their advantage by consistently updating them with quality content (utilizing keywords like “best san diego wedding gowns”), thus enhancing SEO in their favor and driving more traffic to their sites. organizations that want to increase their relevancy or visibility online should create a blog (and make sure to keep their blog updated- we’ll talk about frequency later) with posts that include keywords relevant to their website and business. That way, whenever someone types into a search engine, there’s more chance for visibility. Fresh content on your website (blog) is the key to staying or moving to the top of online searches. most search engines give preference to sites that are consistently being updated, and we all know we aren’t going to be changing our websites every week so that’s where blogging comes in- new content loaded to your website on a regular basis. if you aren’t blogging, your website is stagnant.

blogging helps increase your business’s SEO and in turn, will help to increase the number of visits to your website which means more potential clients looking for your service. Increasing relevancy and visibility through providing great, consistent content and quality over time, is going to bring more traffic to your website.

Additionally, blogging can become a way to promote and sell services to potential clients. Along with the content, videos or photos are a great way to showcase what you have to offer – especially if the video or photos provoke an emotional reaction from the viewers. When you post photos or videos showcasing your work on your blog, they can be shared around (think PINTEREST), essentially providing free advertisement for your business.

the number common reasons i hear that people don’t blog… they don’t know what to blog about, they don’t have time to blog, or they don’t like to write. Coming up with fresh, relevant content for your brand can feel daunting on top of all the other things your already doing to maintain your business but don’t let that stand in your way, driving new potential clients to your website is how you’ll continue to grow.

Here are some of the blogs I’ve been working on this year, I hope you’ll check them out… and if you need some help with your blog, let’s connect.
